UPH Jessup Team 2010 won the Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, 9th Indonesian National Rounds General Champion & Best Memorial.

Thank you to all those who have supported us up to this point, especially ms. Jessica Los Banos, James Losari, Pricillia Halim & Nenda Inasa Fadilah. The same goes to the UPH School of Law, all the seniors and outside people who have helped us.

Departure to the International Rounds in Washington D.C. is two months away, i can't wait.

Its funny how it can be so hot during the day and so cool in the afternoon and night. It has been raining like mad these couples of days. Some people even called it storm.

Today was the first day I witnessed karawaci flooded. I should have taken a picture. The attached photo is the student lounge's see-through rooftop.

Currently, jessup is taking its toll and so is the uni works. Semester and submission date are in a month time. Keep your fingers crossed and I just hope we can ace it all this time.

For the 6th day I'm home, I haven't got the chance to surf yet. I found out the other day that my board has a hole on it. Its bad for the board, since the water will enter the foam, hence the board will be very heavy. Besides that, the weather has been very unfriendly, its has been gloomy and raining the last 3 days. I do like rain, but not when I'm in bali. I need the sunshine back. :(

My maid bought a new bicycle, I thought I gave it a try before bringing it back to kuta. I went around with my cousin during my grandmother's birthday yesterday. We went into the alleys and it was sort of adventurous to find where we can go from there. At last I decided to go to the city park called alun-alun. Its only 5 minutes away, but the facts that I'm riding a bike, its something else. It has been a long a time I haven't gone around places with a bike, its a funny thing to do. People on the street we're looking at us because most of the people, especially on the busy street, were riding their motor bike. Ha ha ha.

Anyway, I planned to surf today. But the cloudy weather anda big hole (ding) on my surfboard, make me stay at home. I have to get it fixed soon.

Oh, there was an earthquake yesterday. Just as strong as the one in jakarta the other day. what's with the quake lately? :p

The general recruitment result was announce last friday. Unbelievably, I got into jessup. Always thought ill end up in wto moot. I'm so happy, yet burdened with the achievement of my seniors. 13th worldwide.

The competition starts tomorrow by the global release of its compromis. So there it goes my dvd, nap and hang out time. Wish me luck.

we had the first 2009-2010 batch mcc gathering. It was in canteen at ex. The place is real nice, so is the food.

I bought my ticket back to bali on the 17, will be home for a week for the ramadhan.

ade is pursuing her master in law in the netherland. will be departing on the 28th of august. been a year i've know her. she was a great deal of help when i was doing my manfred, space law moot. always been a great friend to hang out with and share stories to. it had been really fun having her around all these time. wishing her all best of luck to survive the colonial country. damn it, she's going to a place where weed is legal. what to ask for more. i know she'll do great there, may my prayer be with you. :)

the photos bellow are the farewell we had last weekend. penang bistro, excellent malaysian cuisine. the canai is just irresistible, dont go for the nasi lemak. the a la carte dishes are not less tastey. we went to portico too, a new resto/lounge in senayan city. i was served wine in a mug, ramadhan month. :(

I finally tried the 'Iga Penyet' my friends are talking about. There was a strange lady who kept gave us additional rice, she even asked us whether we want to add other food. Weird, yet nice. :) This is actually beef ribs with special indonesian chilli (sambal). Must try this. Cheers.

Result of asia cup is disappointing and heart-breaking. One point away from getting the 'special invitation team', very unfortunate. However, we got rank 6 out of 21 teams in all asia. Not too bad, I guess. Will do better next time!

Surfed padma for the past two days. Awesome waves, just too many people in the water. :( Lee invited us for bbq at her house before she left for us next week. The baby pork ribs were awesome, just too spicy on the sambal and vegies. Wanted to go out, but I guess I'm too tired. Beside, I'm going to make a surpise for my sister's birthday tonight.

I've repainted my room. Yellowish white. One hell of a work, man. It took me two days to finish it. I'm going to stay here until august mid, just before 3rd sem starts.

I just sent andy to the airport, I really hope he enjoys his trip to bali this time.

For his last night in bali, I brought him to dinner at tratoria with elaine, paula and two fo her friends. We went to lalucciola again, for some granitas. Bradley told me to come over to nero, one of our friend is playing there. Kuta turned to be empty, well...not really, but it can be considered empty compare to the usual weekend. Fucking bomb, mon...no brainers people. Had some drinks in nero and ranggi joined us. I had to drive all the way to denpasar to send elaine back to her place. Fok, it was some scary shit, I tell you...hahaha.

I don't think I'm going any where today. My friend asked me to surf in the aft, ill see whether the waves are good or not. Probably dinner with the fam and dvd. I've been trying to look for 'juno' but I'm just not that lucky. I want to watch 'die hard 4' too... :p

Four days countdown to commencement of asia cup result. I can't wait.

Sorry for the lack of update. I just don't have the mood to go online. :) however, here are some highlight os what I've done so far... Dinner with some old friends at jimbaran, always turned out to be awesome...sate penyu, the thing you can only find here and andy...he's having a week trip to bali. I'm on my way back to bali. First flight departing from the newly open terminal 3 soekarno hatta. At its first glance, it looks a little bit like lcct in malaysia. But I can assure you, its much better. :) looking straight out the window, I can see the reddish ray of the sun, starting to rise. Beautiful day to start with. After one and half month of brain labor, I'm finally going to have my real holiday...well, at least for the first 3 days, before I have to get back to research... :(

I witness some great intolerance and lack of patience when I was standing in one of the lines. Shame. Young people should have known their manners better.
Will be waiting for the asia cup result announcement...the committee will announce it in two weeks time. Keep the finger crossed.

I had a plan to work for the day, a failed attempt due to conversation win and I had with catherine.

My brother fetched me from the bc, and there I was home. Didn't get to watch my a week left 'how I met your mother', I had to go to the mall to meet up with jeje.

We made a lot of plan to meet up but we always ended up postponing it! It was a year ago the last time I saw her, it was her a week trip to bali with dice. We went to this new puff shop, 'chewy junior', bought so drinks and chatted for almost an hour. She told me her plan to go to UK this september for her degree, I'm freaking jealous. I should have been there too...blame the complexity of different legal system. Sigh

When the time showed 6.10, we headed to the cinema. Bought the ticket for the transformer earlier, there we were watching what everyone have been waiting for. I didn't expect too much, since there are a lot of peole who gave negative comments about it. However, it turned to be so good...it's a must watch movie! Trust me...

Planned to have dinner in one of the restaurants, but she had to go early. Plan to e another meet up with her before she departs to UK.

I supposed to go back to the bc tonite, but my brother is sick, so ill stay home to look after him. :) so, ill guess, I will still have my dvd timeee!!! Have a great weekend people. Less than two weeks for AC. Keep the fingers cross cheers.

Last, i want to pay my tribute to the passing away of Michael Jackson. Even though, i'm not such a big fans of his, but his songs brought many memories. Started from one of his songs my friends and I sang on graduation, nico's favorite playlist and the list goes on. I have to agree that he is one of a kind, he danced and sang like he did before anyone could his life is one hell of a controversies. Enough said.

Rest in peace Michael Joseph Jackson, you'll be missed.

Bus ride

My first bus ride from karawaci to jakarta was one hell of an experience. Started with the waiting of the bus on the side of the roadways, literally roadways with no pathways, the seller of all of sort things that you never think they gonna offer in the bus and the smelly busway (oh boy, I hold my breath all the way through). I made my way through my first bus ride all the way from karawaci to jakarta, all alone. The only thing that I had in my mind, if I got lost, ill just get a cab to send me home. Hahahaha. My stop was at bundaran HI (2nd picture) and I walked my way to plaza indonesia.

Bella told me she was coming to jakarta for a short trip, so there I was meeting her. Sat for coffee with he parents and familly, had a conversation that lasted for almost 2 hours. She sent me to penangbistro later for tata's birthday. Its was good seeing her again after almost a year and a half, shared stories ans laughing at good old stories.

Tata dinner was great, I had canai and nasi lemak. The canai was as good as the ones they have in malaysia, but not the nasi lemak. Dissapointing. Since no body had anymore plan, johan, vero and I joined my brother and his friends in public. I didn't expect I would meet meidy and toe there, surprising! Have been sometimes I haven't seen them both! well, the weekend was great, but it made me exhausted for the next-day-waking-up-early schedule. Hehehehe

Back in the BC for the 2 more weeks intensive drafting! Cheers.

I caught the flu in this hectic time of memorial making. Sigh. The work to be done is seem endless, it gets more stressful by the day, but really interesting when you get the thing you research for. Deadline is less than a month. Have to work harder and harder. God, help me! Hahaha. The consumption of time in this process taking day and night, back to back. Its now the second week I'm back in karawaci. Not for the purpose of taking the Short Semester, like everybody think, but for the mooting that I'm currently doing.

The work is really frustrating. It is as crazy as hell. Living in the bc with the people, is another thing. Highlight is the level of 'decent-ness' that we, maybe I shoul say they, can keep is very terrible. He he he.

My last day on this time trip back home. Went to nusa dua with my dad in the morning, meeting w/ one of his client. Dewi came to hang out in the afternoon and had family dinner at home.

As of this writting, I'm in centro doing last minute shopping before going back to karawaci. Its so nice shopping when there are no other customers. Hehehehe.

Ill miss the waking up early, surfing, food and of course the people. Ill be back soon. July, I hope. Caos.

I had a great surf this morning! wave shoulder high with couple of closing when the set hits.

Went to ubud for brunch with bradley and dodek in famous ibu oka. Then we had some desert in morny's warung. Great hills and riverside view. Ubud is a great place to chill out and getaway from the kuta's crowd. Howdie mate...cheers.

I'm done with exams yesterday. Semester 2 officially over with. And here it comes the holiday. Weee heee. Lerby treated us lunch for his birthday and james had a farewell dinner at nite in pacific place, jakarta. Supposed to go to X2, but the plan was ruined. He he he.

I went to the library today, but it was closed. I have to get some books...arhh!!! Writting this, as I'm waiting for my lunch in the mall. The mall is freakin crowded. in the middle of the finals crisis, it was the birthday of fransiska ade widodo. a senior in the law school where im currently studying, a fellow manfred-ers and not to forget, one of the many good friends of mine.

she turning 22 this may. i wish her the very best luck of pursuing her master in the netherland. she invited us to an italian restaurant in kuningan area, jakarta. it used to be tratoria, the same italian restaurant that located in oberoi, bali.

among all of the invitees, i was the youngest. almost all of them are graduated or graduating this week. i feel so young and left behind. hehehe. the food was great and the people are even better. i hope she had a blast on turning 22 and may all her wish come true.

Bought tickets this afternoon, I got Garuda this time around. Will be by saturday nite. Wee heeeee. I'm checking whether the posting from my mobile is working or not. Mind the notification it attached to, promotion shits. He he he.

Islamic law book seems to be endless man. This is dispite the facts that constitutional law is hundred pages more to be read for the exams sannabiatch. I can't concentrate...

The probabilities od taking the short semester is getting smaller, two people backed out the offer, it means less people, which means if its not enough people, there would be no classes for me. If that's the case ill be doing Asia Cup prep the whole 2 or 3 months. Wuuuhhhh!!!

Intensive training is tomorrow at 8, gotta sleep early today. All the best to law peeps in malaysia. Land law I heard, will be tough for sure. Besz of luck guys. Cheers.

this blog is turning into a little bit dull recently, my apology for the lack of updates and stories.

as the title goes . . . recently . . .

i watched the crowning of miss uph the other day. the girls are wowwww. hahahaha. uph have some d*g s**t, wee hee. the winner looks like a doll. she's very cute. hehehe.

the reading week is officially started. i have one week until the exams are started, which also means ill be home in two weeks. looking for the tickets now. i cant state this enough. he he he. sadly the going-home this time will only last one week before the short semester started.

mooting is getting crazier and crazier, the demand from the seniors are keep getting heavier. im taking the short semester, just so because im doing the moot prep this time. ill be here in karawaci, while many of my friends will be having holiday in bali. shyte.

won came to indonesia couple of days ago. he spent the first to nights in bali, then he came here for 3 days. brought him around. of course, malls. what else! i didnt know he wanted to see some tourist places, that i never even think to go. he made me go to taman mini indonesia indah, sea world and some museums. if its not for him, i would never go there. ha ha ha. he is in bali now for another 3 days. i hope he enjoyed the visit.

wooo hoooo, i know i have been missing from the page for almost a week now. i hardly have time at home to update with the blog. either im watching House or im out hanging out in my friends house. sorry for the lack of update, oo, this is also due to my blackberry incapability to create a post with its applications. shyte.

review about the week. bradley came down here to pack all his stuff and brought it back to bali. spent some time with him and always went home unconscious. ha ha ha.

im in the mooting misery now. the problem of Asia Cup 2009 is out, since the day it was released busy-ness starting to mount and it'll get worst . . .arrrrr. this mooting has caused me couples of meeting this week it self. international law group study, case reading and stuff. we'll be moving in to the new basecamp for MCC [moot court community]. battle on babyyyy!

exams are in two weeks. im not to worry about it. registering for short semester has to be done soon. instead of spending the 2 - 3 months holiday in bali, ill be taking the short semester, which happened to be at the same time with Asia Cup prep. ill definitely reserve next years short sem for long holiday. hahaha

i didnt go anywhere this weekend. stayed over karawaci, hang out with the boys and just spent the night laughing over stupid jokes. i did get very, very bored. but what the heck, ill keep the boredom and happily explode it when i reach bali for the short break. or, ill just watch a movie tomorrow to let go the boredom. hahaha.

i just watched BRA BOYS documentary leonard lend me. its about the life of four brothers live in australia and their boys went through broken home, build a friend ship of a life time, tough live on the street, various criminal charges, death and of course, surfing.

i've know about their stories from surfing mag that i read years ago, never thought they have their own movie. the documentary really portrays surfing and it lifestyles. a real good one and should, must perhaps, watch list.

like always, watching movies or documentaries that contain surfing in it make me longing to be home. to surf, being with all the mates and just being home. some times i hate this, being far away from home, stuck with all these buildings and competitive lifestyle. i want the slow moving!! anyway, im going back less than in a month, so i should just hold up to the thoughts.

I was walking down to the toilet, after watching the movie KNOWING in one of the mall around karawaci. I kept walking to the mens room, or at least the toilet that I thought for the getlemen. I started ti hear ladies telling me "salah, salah!", at the same time I started to lose Win's and Leo's voice, who were just walking besides me seconds ago. As I raised my head to actually enter the toilet, I realized LADIES, yes LADIES were coming out of the toilet. And that very second I realizes I went to the wrong place. Shyteeee. Outside Win, Leo and Risty were laughing their arse off. farrrrk!!! Lesson learnt; never play with your phone while doing something. Thanks to BB. Good nite.

i have not done any of the work need to be done. not to be afraid tho, some work for presentation would be done by tomorrow afternoon. he he he. and i dont think im going to submit the summary for civil law. last month was like im having more holidays than classes. malaysia, singapore and now bali . . . ha ha ha. i developed a theory, once im in holiday i would touch no work, at all. he he he.

two days ago was the legislative election. this is my first time using the rights given upon the citizens by the state. the new system can be considered good and bad at the same time. the election of legislative members instead of the party, shows some transparency and give the people direct rights to choose who they would like to chose, to sit in the parliamentary sits. however, due to more than 30 political parties and endless name of proposing members, made this election very confusing. well, that's all i have to say for now, lets just hope the people who going to take the office will pay more intention to the people's interest, rather than the thickness of their own pocket.

forgot to mention that mena, dewi, banny, bejox and I had a cooking session yesterday. banny's skill, learned from his hospitality schools, is good. we made steak, potato salad and some veggies, not to forget the creame brule for dessert. he he he.

my flight is at 11 pm, i still have more than 10 hours from now. gonna sit around at home and eat the food ill be missing way in jakarta. have a good day people.

Hey ho . . .I'm back in bali. After one night contemplation, I bought ticket for two. Going to be here for jade's cremation' which gonna be on saturday.
Bad news, I missed the first flight back, made me purchase another set of ticket for my bro and I. Daddy doesnt knoow about this,hahaha!
Not only that, I put my laptop in the bag and a water bottle leaked. It cannot turn on. Farkkkk, I have tons of work!!! Will get back to it once I'm in jakarta.
The surf has been small, no swell! However, I did get the chance to surf padma with the boys in yesterday aft, going there again later.

after quite sometime, i managed to finish or khatam as win put it, the book BLINK written by Malcom Gladwell.

Blink is a book about how people make judgement in the very second of their encounter with something or someone. Gladwell, explain how important judgement made in second is, he put stories to illustrate his theory. in my opinion its pretty much about prejudice and stereotyping.

the important part of the book is that he wrote, judgement we made in the very second we encounter something is sometimes way much better than judgement we made when we contemplate a matter too long. this is because when we think about something too much in a short constraint of time, we forget the essential part of the matter as we are drown in the pool of data. deep and insight contemplation will produce good judgement only when we have the luxury of time and accessible information.

this second-judgement is based on our UNCONSCIOUS part of the brain, many people think, we cant do anything about it, Gladwell produced a theory that stated otherwise. we can control, exercise the judgement of our unconscious mind by getting familiar with the matter that we are dealing with.

Gladwell presented interesting stories after one and another, he illustrates and elaborates his theory in a very easy way to understand. i like the books he wrote, like the one i read last time, The Tipping Point.

in conclusion, this book is to tell you how and when you got to trust your second-judgement, avoid stereotyping and prejudicing people and not to forget ways to learn the ways how our mind works. good book, should read.

ive come back from my 4 days trip to malaysia. everybody kept asking me, what the reason behind my visit this time. the reason is simple, i just want to see people, before they are all leave for UK or any other further studies abroad.

well, most of them didnt know that i was coming. it was quite a surprise for most of the people. told you, i like surprises and making one. he he he.

i cant really tell everything in details, i got to do my work that i left behind while i was away. plus i have to catch up with the work for this week and next, because im leaving for singapore this wednesday. it seems like im having my own 2 weeks holiday. ha ha ha ha.

my visit was filled with makan-makan, movies and meeting people.

as for makan-makan, i ate food that i cant find in indonesia; tgi friday, chilis, tony romas, old town kopitiam, uncle seng and other malaysian food. for most part, i cant finisht he meal, i think i got this habit nowadays. bad bad. i didnt get the chance to eat some listed in my list. pork noodle, che chung fun, rojak, canai and many moreee.... arghhh.

for the movies part; i watched every single day. for the first day i watched marley and me with dice. it was good and saddening. second day, i watched the international and again with dice. its an okay movie. third, dragon ball with won in one utama and the reader on my last day with pumpkin, lara and nep.

the people. i met most of the people that i wanted to see. i said most, so not all. emily and jules, you guys were the missed people. sorry. some other time yea. for the people that i met, ill go through with the photos, alrite.

all in all, i had a great fun. it was like my last 3 days after first year exams last july. thank you peoepl for spending some of your time. pumpkin, lara, dice, elaine, aaron, won, sakai, law peeps, icpu peeps and many others. ill see you guys some other time. cheers

as i promised, im going to make a brief review of the books i had read recently and also a short solution of the problem discussed in the book. this is the least i can do, to give back what i've learned and gained.

the last book i read is PRINCESS - THE TRUE STORY OF LIFE INSIDE SAUDI ARABIA'S ROYAL FAMILY, written by Jean Sasson.

it is a based-on-true-story book. the book has narrative format, the view from one of the saudi's princesses. she told the wealthy life of the saudi's royal, the patriarchal society that find it roots so deep in the community, the arranged marriage that shuttered many of the women life just for the sake of family's financial standing, men domination over women, the cruel penal law impose in the territory based on syariah, the fights over equality for women rights and abuse of immigrant workers.

the story is very interesting and sometimes it gets very rough as chapters try to explain the details cruel punishment imposes if one is convicted of an offense. the treatment to the women by their brother and father that most of the time disgust me.

those are the behavior of saudi's back in the 60's and 70's, or even 80's. there are some changes that have been made, but the women are still viewed to be less valuable than men. i dont know the present situation of saudi arabia, however, drawing conclusion from the book, it is plausible to say that the practice of islamic teaching in the land of the desert, back on that time, have been fatally misinterpreted. it was wrong and should not be continued. i believe that anyone with conscience and humility will agree with me.

mmm... im running out of ideas. last, this post is with no mean, whatsoever, to disgrace or disrespect islamic teaching. this book is about history, we should learn from the mistake done in the past. that is all im asking. peace out. assalamwalaikum.

i watched kambing jantan, an indonesian movie. the story taken up from a blog of an indonesian student studying in adelaide, australia.

the movie really depicts what kind of life international students are living up to. the instant noodle, the phone card, the failure in studies (well, not all), long distance relationship and many others.

i have a friend who used to study in adelaide too, he took finance and he finally comes back home to start over. this is his story, exactly the same with what i watched in the movie. apparently, he was there too watching with me. he was in total shock, that what he experienced is something that he was watching. hilarious. click here for the official site.

do you ever think that when everything goes right and you are afraid that things are just going to fall apart. well, maybe not all, but some. this shit happened man. ha ha ha. it happened to me, but i dont freaking believe it. its just a coincidence i suppose. haha.

bloody ooo... this goes for two things. mid terms are over... bloody ooo. i think i did quite well on the exams, im expecting good mark. i've mentioned that i have to write a paper for the criminal law exam substitution. i've written about decriminalization of marijuana in indonesia, its a very interesting topic, anyone would like to read, just let me know and i'll send it. he he he.

and another one goes to ... my canceled flight to KL. bloody ooo!!! the people here didnt allow me to go for the reason that my passport is expiring soon. i have to have 6 months active period to be able to go outside the country, mine expires in 4. shiiiitttt. so all the plans are canceled and i've disappointed some of them. im very sorry. never thought of this kind of thing. bloody ooo. anyway, ive changed the date and if my passport renewal goes accordingly, ill be seeing you there.

besides these two, i've received the compromi for asia cup, mooting competition, crecruitment process. going to start the hectic life, again. so far, i have no plans for tomorrow, sunday and monday. most probably ill watch house and start the research.

ooww... i finally tried hanamasa. went there after last paper ... good food, good people, good laugh ... good time.

i came to a conclusion, after almost 2 semesters of observation and involvement in the addiction, that indomie is freaking addictive. its trueee.. i crave for it almost everyday. its really bad, really bad. people admit the same. i have to do something about this. a non-instant-noodle-week, i suppose.

i can hear the rain is falling... rainy and gloomy all day long, things i havent seen for sometimes. it makes me sleep well.

research for criminal law is on its way. im writing about decriminalization of marijuana in indonesia. something fun to read. now i know the difference between narcotics and psychotropics. ha ha ha.

inheritance law quiz was hard, i didnt expect my self to do all those math. i guess, lawyers still can count. a little bit. ha ha ha.

had additional class for islamic law today, since the lecturer is going to be abroad sometimes after the mid sems. while entering the class, instead of the islamic law lecturer, i found the lecturer for constitutional law. there was some mess in the scheduling until both lecturers came at the same time. since islamic law reserved the time earlier, we had that class instead of consti.

i think i've lost my count on when is the mid sems. i kept thinking its going to be in 2 weeks, but hell, its less than a week away. i havent started on my crime paper. shitsa. well, as soon as im done with mid sems, ill be having my short hols. weee

i told you i am having a dinner with some of the mooting people. i expected it to be many people, but it turned up only few of us. as i was on my way to jakarta, i just realized that this was not an official mcc monthly gathering.

in total only 7 of us were there. usually place for the dinner is already picked, but this time we were going around to look for the place for the meal. fx has quite number of restaurants, i saw one vietnamese, but since it doesnt look so convincing we moved to another.

we finally chose cosi, a chinese food rest, well macau food to be exact. i never saw any bake rice here in indonesia, so i picked that for the night. the one that i chose has 3 different tastes in it. it was good. when we were finished with the meal, levin came. so later, she asked us to go accompany her for her dinner. she ate at kiyadon.

after done with the jap food, peggy sent one of our friends home. we then met again in plasa senayan for the x2 session. x2 is a club that known to have a very strict restriction for people below 21. i was afraid not be allowed to go in. they asked for my id, but i didnt know why, they didnt look at it. even my friends were shocked about that. the club was fun, but the drinks taste like shit. well, at least the one i bought.

i drove home feeling half conscious, but thanks god i made it back. the rest were just too drunk to drive. lucky im not lost either. ha ha ha. but i got to say this, dont drink and drive. trust me.

as of today, i finished my summary for tomorrow and gonna study for the inheritance law quiz. its hard mofo. i finally realized that doing without distraction is very effective. again, trust me on this one. turn off your laptop, dont talk with your peeps and stay focus on the work. ha ha

one of my cousin came to jakarta for a short holiday, i met him in the hotel where he stayed with the rest of his friend. the so-called journey to the hotel was a shitty-motor-ride.

followed my brother's friend all the way to jakarta and stopped at her house. i took an ojek, indonesian motor bike transport, from that house to the hotel. the ojek was alrite, but the places that i went through seems to be very scary.

people are literary looked at me, as if im a pray. seriously. the hotel is located in the middle part of the city, which i think a very compact and dirty area. the crazy traffic is adding to the equation. i'll suggest people to never ride a motor bike in jakarta, it's a dangerous shit.

stayed in the hotel while waiting for my brother to come. we went to fx when my brother finally arrived at 11. we chose fx since it is the only mall in jakarta that close early morning. had our supper there and we proceed back home.

my cousin never comes here, so it gives him the opportunity to see my campus and the place where i live. he seems to like the place, despite the distance from the city.

today, he wakes me up early in the morning, wanted to bring him to the campus to show over and eat in the mall, he just need to go back to jakarta. lucky, joven is very kind to borrow his car to us. had our lunch in kfc, before i say a good bye to him.

it has been months i havent seen him. back then, i saw him almost everyday, we surf, party and slack around together. time flies ey...? anyway, im back home now and thinking whether i should start my summary for monday or just an episode of house. maybe i'll do the later, first.

im going to fx, again, with the moot court people. they say they are having a dinner. be back soon. have a great weekend. oww, karawaci is having its second series of the GT race. i got a glimpse of the competition on the way to campus yesterday and today i saw it in the tv. its cool mann... street race. despite the thrill of the race, the traffic during the race is always jammed.

i stayed up all night finishing half of the work for monday.

i managed to get it all done by today's afternoon. this is the very first time, i can really relax on saturday, plus sunday. weee. and i wake up at 10 am, this morning. i like to wake up earlyyy..

as i had my lunch, i leonard handed me back the dvds he borrowed from me.

one of it is the curious case of benjamin button. i've heard many positives comment about the movie, so i decided to watch.

the movie is indeed long, it is 2 hours and 40 minutes plus, if im not mistaken. i like the reverse aging part, it makes me waiting how younger benjamin can be. the revelation of the story gets better while the film is rolling.

im meeting my uncle and aunt today to pick up the package my mom sent me. then public night for the valentine. fyi, i don't really fancy this particular festive, but still worth to be celebrated for the sake of fun it self. i supposed to join the mooting people's dinner somewhere in jakarta, but due to transport problem, i reserved the day for the night party.

i think i've said enough. oww, i bought my tickets.

jessup 2009 (national round)

as i mentioned before, i got the chance to become the bailiff and the usher for jessup's national round. the event supposed to be held in constitutional court, however because of some inside politics, the venue was changed to cemara and threva hotel. being part of this was indeed a very great experience.

other than to get to know how the committee works, i also got the chance to watch the actual competition. present there was the students from indonesia's universities. this time around i really understand what mooting is all about.

its not just about remembering your submission and presenting it nicely, it is more about how do you go around answering the judges questions. i think the Q&A is the hardest part of the competition.

i got to witness the ability of my seniors and their rivals. some of them are really something. they answer questions, difficult ones, on their feet. not only that, they are also able to stay on point even though the judges trying to break their attention. plus, their knowledge and memory of the law is amazing.

at the end of the competition, the winner of the national round is Universitas Indonesia, which is already being predicted. UPH comes second. both of the team will proceed to washington dc for the international rounds sometime around march. all the best. i have to say both teams are the winner.

for the part of being a bailiff and ushers, there is nothing much to tell. i even, almost fell asleep while counting the minutes. ha ha ha. other than that, i got to know other students from other universities that contribute to be part of the committee. well, thats pretty much all about the jessup 2009. i uploaded all the photos in facebook, take a peek.

as for today, i went to the gym with lerby and win.

one feel-good-day. hahaha. they say i hardly sweat. mann.

bloody bk.

first day of the bailiff duty. the whole day i spent in jakarta, while karawaci is having the GT race and the opening of the new street race tracks.

we came in full suit as ordered. and that made me remember of the time i had to dress the same, law school malaysia. we usually wear it for special events and the one i remember and cherish the most is the time when i had to be in full suit for the parliament visit, and i went to the rojak stall with pumpkin while waiting for the departure. it was hot long walk, nevertheless it's one out of many unforgettable memories.

pumpkin; you are not here this time around to enjoy the burger king lunch i had, i miss you.

going back to the jessup. we were told to come around 10, but the bailiff meeting was not until 2. it was a long, boring, repetitive briefing. when it finished around 5.30, the uph bailiff teams went to the nasi goreng kambing win suggested to us. the food doesnt worth the money man, crazy prices they have there. ex was next. i went to dead by chocolate, they have delicious drinks mann... all the way to win's house in rawamangun right after for the night rest.

i have to usher and time keeping for the afternoon rounds. ill be bailiff-ing one out of two uph's rounds. it can be a little bit boring, but im afraid to fall asleep during the pleading. ha ha ha. bed now.

i have problem sleeping and spending money...

and i have a thing for girls with beautiful eyes and good smells. ha ha

today is another sleepless day.

i had to do my civil law summary last nite.

well, at least this one better than last week, i had half an hour sleep.

thus, i had a very cranky day.

too tired to walk in and outside campus.

i watched bride wars on sat nite. it's funny.

and then public white party at nite. it was awesome.

im going to be one of the bailiffs for jessup this week.

its gonna be a 3 days event in the mahkamah konstitusi - constitutional court.

the book for civil law is only ready tomorrow. i guess ill be sleep deprive for the summary making. i didnt sleep at all just to finish the constitutional law chart yesterday, which the lecturer canceled to submit this week. sigh. i spent 3 hours sleeping in the student's lounge after the class. ha ha.

im going to public tonite and no further plan fot the afternoon.
